Lisbon was host to a internacional fireworks festval, strangely only 3 countries are going at it... France, Spain and Japan ( unfortunately this was the only show I was able to go to ). Anyway, this was my first chance to shoot fireworks up close and with a decent camera. Here are the results, what do you think ?

Did you use a tripod? The first two have camera shake which detracts from what would be otherwise stunning shots. The last two have some unfortunate people in the foreground.

Don't you mean the two in the middle?
Well, yes, most were handheld because my tripod it tiny and had people all around it, thus the people in a couple of them, I'll see into some better ones soon. Thanks for your comments.

    I like the handshake effect
    #1,2 and 5 are really nice. Esp. #2. clap.gif
You could have accentuated it even more. Like painting with light, you know:-)
    Thanks for sharing!

I like number 4 myself. I think the people make the shot.

Thanks Nikolai, me too, I wasn't so disturbed by the handholding results as I tought I'd be, actually, it kind of adds to the picture. I did experiment a bit, but not great things came out. I'll try to post them tomorrow tough. Greaper, I tought the same, it makes the fire look big, as is should.

I like posts 1 and 4 the most. The fireworks in the first frame came out very abstract. In frame 4 I like the people in the forefront. I only find the figure on the left a bit distracting.

    Way better than I did!
    GREAT JOB David! thumb.gifthumb.gif
I took this a few years back with my FD97 2.1mp.
Real hard to get pics with all the smoke in the air.....also with the FD97 it had a fixed ISO thus the grain.

Someday I'll try it with my 828 and see the diff.
    Just thought I'd share ne_nau.gif

Fortunately there was barely any smoke there. Tomorrow there will be another show... there I'll be with my brand new taller tripod :D

I dug around trying to find a couple more abstract ones but really didn't like too many of those. I processed some more of the none abstracts that caught my attention this time tough :
