Harry Learns to fly
My wife's grandpa is 85, If I have half his enthusiam and energy at 85 I'll be a happy man....
In the last 2 years he's crewed on a tall ship, Visited Niagra, flown over The Grand Canyon in a Helicopter, Toured the Boeing factory.....etc, etc
Now he's learning to fly
My Mother in Law drove him down to Popham (near Salisbury) and escorts him to the briefing room
Steve his Pilot for the day
up up & away

This is such a great documentation. The first photo is wonderful--demonstrating the "age" factor involved--the stiff and slow walk. However--towards the last frame, your wife's grandfather looks so vibrant and youthful--holding with such pride his certificate. "Certificate of Experince"--how true--85 years of experience, I would say.
The third photo is just so artistic--takeoff of the plane on a green runway.(Any photoshop cloning done here?)
Truly a great momento.

I love the contrast from the first to the last shot (old man to boyish grin)

my stuff is here.....
Good to see our elderly citizens out pushing the boundarys.
I must say that when I saw the title for this thread, I had visions of Harryb and his birding fetish.

Interesting to know what equipment was used?

No cloning, I did pan the shot, but I have to confess that I exagerated it a tad
(Duplicate layer - motion blur - masked off the plane and surrounds with varying amounts of opacity)
Thanks again
