Inspired by some of the recent photos, that I have seen lately, we took a drive out to Palouse Falls this weekend. Here are a couple of photos.

2. This one I like, but there is a pretty hot spot on this side of the water that I have not been able to figure out how to get rid of.

Really nice series, not your typical image of the entire falls and river. I like all your perspectives, no favorite as they all stand on their own. I would not worry about the hot spot in the falls, it is not that noticeable. Actually the more I look at these #2 is very dramatic and I will call it my fav. Where you taking any special risks with any of these positions?

Thanks for the reply Don!! For the last 2, I was standing out on a pretty ledge to take the photos, but I am not much of a risk taker, so it was fairly safe::D.

It was suggested to me to Content Aware on the hot spot and I think it was just the ticket. Content Aware is in CS5, which I do not own due to expense, but it is also in PSE9 which I do have. Here is the photo again with the hot spot gone.

Wow.....that first image is awesome. Is that a hiker I see on the ledge to the left?

These are cool. This is amazing geology at work. I saw a Nova
program about the scablands, really interesting show.

Beautiful falls and area. Had to Google the location. I have a friend who says I need to come out and really explore eastern WA & Oregon, that they are so different than the coastal/ big metro areas.

    Great images Ron
I like the processing as well as the compositions. 1 and 2 are very dramatic while the 3rd has phenomenal layers and textures. thumb.gif

You hit this at just the right time of day.
Some of the best shots I have seen of Palouse.
Easy to clone out the hot spot, use opacity at 30, set the tool to darken, soft brush, and have at it. Takes a minute or two.
