HDMI cable for Canon 7D

I would like to view the photos/videos I've taken on my Canon 7D on a high def TV. From what I read I have to purchase a separate cable. A 7D guide that I bought mentioned the Canon HTC-100 cable. When I looked on line for the Canon HTC-100 cable it costs about $40-50. When I stopped at our local Radio Shack, they wanted $69 for the same type of cable. When I did a search on Amazon it showed generic cables that said they would work with a 7D for under $10. Has anyone used these cheaper cables? I would really like to go the cheaper route, since it is just to view images I've taken immediately after when I'm visiting relative and don't have access to my desktop computer.

Yup, paid around $5 for mine on Amazon a few months back. Works fine.

I second that. The cheap cables are just as good.

I got an HDMI 1.4 cable for $3 shipped via ebay and it works without any coloration problems or poor connection. Its even got interference shields installed onto it!

Got mine from monoprice.com. It was labelled 6ft 30AWG High Speed Mini-HDMI (Type C) to HDMI (Type A) Cable - Black

I have a 5D Mk II and it's worked beautifully with the cable -- no problems at all. The reviews also show other people buying it for the 7D and 5D MK II.
