Here are a few images of a hawk that was around and having dinner as well. I think that this is a Rough Leg Hawk, if not please correct me if I'm wrong.

    Very nice set, Dennis. thumb.gif

I would decrease the saturation on the green BG in an attempt to emphasis the bird more.

Thanks very much DsrtVW, and yes i have to agree that one is sure a special one with that drop of blood on the talon. I think that this is more a juvenile Red-tail hawk now that I have looked into this more, but if anyone can confirm this I would appreciate it.

Thanks very much Ric, as for the backgrounds I kind of like it the way it is, but I will see what happens with the adjustment you suggested.

    Thanks again

    Superb set of images!
I have to admit that I missed the drop of blood on the talon when I first looked. Having now looked again.... WOW.

Excellent Dennis!! I believe it is a red, the rough legged shots I have are different but the phases of these birds are crazy. I have a lot of similar reds so I would go that way- of course mine are not at all the fantastic shots you have, that 1st one is great!!

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Lindiwe, thanks for the comments on these and I thought I would leave that out in the description and let others point this out. Yes that little drop really made that image standout even more. Thanks again.

Thanks very much Deb, and I think you are right as well, but juvenile hawks I have such a hard time to ID at times. Thanks for the kind words on these images.
