How to send a link to a "category"

I have photos in 5 different galleries. All of those galleries have the same category. These galleries are private. Everything looks great when I view the category - I see the 5 galleries. How can I send that same view to the client? I have to keep them separate as they are.

thanks!

Aaaah. Just figured it out. Although what I saw was "www.pigeongallery.com when viewing the category, all I had to do was add the category name to the end of the URL.

    Duh!

The reason your URL bar in your browser didn't reflect the category is because your custom domain is not set up correctly. Your site is using frames rather than a true CNAME. I'd suggest you fix that and your site will work significantly better. There also may be other Smugmug capabilities that do not work properly in a framed site.

OK, the problem now is that the client can't see the link. So, I guess my original question still stands.

What's the link you tried? Did you see my previous post about fixing your custom domain?

The domain is setup fine, and this link is the type of link you'd give out

    http://prints.pigeongallery.com/Events

Andy, this domain is a frameset: http://www.pigeongallery.com/. If that's what they're using for clients, then Smugmug is going to end up in a frameset and I thought that was a no-no.

Hm, that's true. Pigeon, write our help desk, ATTN: Domain experts. http://smugmug.com/help/emailreal

your subdomain prints.pigeongallery.com is properly set but the other method as John says is unsupported.

    Thanks Andy and John...

I didn't mean to type www.pigeongallery.com - I've set up the subdomain prints.pigeongallery.com specifically for SmugMug galleries. Only static info is stored on www.pigeongallery.com.

Now that I corrected my mistake, and tried prints.pigeongallery.com/xxx, and send it to someone, they get the msg: "perhaps you'd like to try searching for one? It's entirely possible this person has galleries, but they may be unlisted."

That means that there are no publicly browsable galleries in that category. What exact link did you send them?

In the future, I'd suggest you test out any links you want to send clients after you've logged out of Smugmug (or from a separate browser that isn't logged into Smugmug) so you can make sure they are the right links for a regular viewer before sending.

    Hi John,
Instead of sending to the client, I emailed to someone as a test (my test client). Yes, I have learned to do that. :)

    the link is http://prints.pigeongallery.com/NILMDTS
I have a category NILMTDS. I see it logged in, but not logged out. The galleries are all unlisted, but I want them to be viewable from a category view.

    thanks again.

Unlisted galleries are never visible in a category when logged out. You may need to create a sharegroup if you want a group of unlisted galleries to be visible in a group. You might also see if "events" offer you what you want. Both are documented in the Smug help system.
