Not sure if this is the right section but here goes.

I'm heading over to a friend's with all of my gear (in a backpack). I am leaving from my warm house and going to his warm house but there is a car ride in between and until the engine warms up it will be at outside temperature (25-30F). Do I have to worry about condensation or will it be ok?

If you can, keep the camera warm using some sort of insulation/wrap inside the backpack. Preferably use something that won't build static electricity but has pretty good loft.

If you can warm up the car before leaving that will help too. You can also leave the camera in the bag for a while at the new location to allow the camera/lens to warm up.

It's all about not letting the camera and lens get too cool, especially if the new location has fairly high humidity as well as warm temperatures.

I have personally found that if I just keep my camera and lens in a camera bag that seems to keep all worries at bay...........

I have to move electronics on occassion during cold spells. Remember that "coolers" also work as "warmers" since they are insulated they keep heat in just the same way they keep heat out in the summertime.

    you should be fine.

if you are going to be out in extended periods of time in cold weather and going into a warm house, put your gear inside a trash bag and seal it shut. that way any condensation will form on the outside of the trash bag and not all over your gear.

also, the same applies from going inside a cool house from a super warm day.
