Of a Golden ....

Ty was hunting sparrows the other day ... She had dug out a hole to wait for their arrival.

1 -- Here I am Mom :D

2 -- She even brought a decoy to coax them in. Ty carries her duckie everywhere.

3 -- Checking overhead .. she thinks she see's one.

4 -- The wait is long.

5 -- I love my duckie/decoy.

GREAT series! I can't imagine why they didn't fall for the GREAT hideout and the decoy--Ty is OBVIOUSLY far too smart for the birds!!!

Great shots - I thought the duckie/decoy was yellow snow until I saw the caption for the 2nd picture :D

Does she ever catch any sparrows??

Sitting quietly, doing nothing. Spring comes and the grass grows by itself.

Lots of yellow snow in my yard right now rolleyes1.gif

Yes she did catch a sparrow long ago. Took it in the doggie pool with her to play with .. sad ending I'm afraid. Ty's 11 now and the birds know she's older. They land within a couple inches of her now with no worries of what she'll do to them. I'll have to get a photo of that some day.

Thanks for looking and leaving a comment :D

    Hi Jiro --

Thank you for the nice comments :D

Ty was in the shade with me facing towards the sun taking most of the photos. I had to be careful not to 'disturb the hunter' rolleyes1.gifIn other words 'she would of moved' :D So I took what I could get in the conditions she allowed me to shoot. Snow is hard to work with sometimes. Especially that day since the sun was peeking through an overcast sky. Lighting was changing all the time.

I get a kick out of watching my dog do the strangest things. I've not a clue how that little mind works, but in the end she seems to figure things out. Always wondered .. do they think in sentence form or just single words????? I know ... I'm alittle strange sometimes rolleyes1.gif

Thanks for taking a look at these and the time to post a comment :D

    Wow!
    Fantastic!

Our 11-year old Golden lives in the Bay Area, where it doesn't snow. But we took her up to the mountains about 2 weeks ago. Even though she's nearly blind, she bounded right into the snow.

She's a good girl. All the best to Ty!

    Hi,

I bet your dog just loved the snow .. I swear goldens see snow as they see water ... fun time rolleyes1.gif

Our Ty's eye sight is still ok .. in fact in the snow when the sun is out she squints. Would love to put some sunglasses on her, but she wouldn't wear them.

Thank you for taking the time to look and comment. My best to your 11 year old .. would love to see a photo of her. Your welcome to post a photo of her on this thread if you want to. Our golden girls need to stick together .. reaching 11 years old is a sign of a 'wonderful life' iloveyou.gif

She sure did! She used to love to go in my parents' pool, but she's pretty wary now. We may get her in this summer.

Here's Indy in the snow... can't believe it wasn't too cold for her!

    What a beautiful golden :)

I can understand Indy being wary of the pool. Ours is too and it's a kiddie pool. They like sure footing under them at this age. Snow tho .. it's 'fun time' for them no matter how old they are :D

Thanks for sharing a photo of Indy .. :D
