ND and MN have been buying out homes/property near the Red River this last summer, fall and winter. The are preparing for the spring floods we seem to be experiencing each year. Expected to be high again this year. Some people just leave their homes to be destroyed while others move them to another area.
This photo was taken on N. Broadway on the MN side of the Red River. This road will cross over the Red River into ND which is beind me in this photo.
Here is a photo of a home left beind on this same road.

Mother Nature always has a way of reclaiming her land doesn't she.
I can sure see how folks would want to move their homes if they can,
or folks buying the ones that didn't want them.
Seems like it'd be hard to move houses with the roads being snowy and
icy.
Neat shot, really tells the story.

Hi Craig ..
Mother nature does have a way doesn't it ...
People found it is sometimes cheaper to move the home vs rebuilding. Also too they get so attached to their home. I was surprised to see them moving this home that day. Roads were icy.

Hello ...
I wouldn't want to be the person coming from around the corner either They would of had no-where to turn around. We could so we went the other way.

Cool shot Mary K. ......
It amazes me too how they can lift that up and just haul it away in one piece.
