How long do you keep your clients photos?

So I just had a client email me and say their computer crashed and lost all their photos from their wedding. Not sure if they have the DVD still, but it got me thinking about this.

Personally I plan on keeping at least the full res final edits of all my clients forever. I also use Backblaze for online backup, keep their Smuggy galleries active and have multiple hard drive backups.

So does anyone delete their clients photos after a number of years? I might consider deleting the RAW files down the road, but the final edits will probably live on forever.

I only guarantee one year. Of course I plan on keeping a hard copy AND an online copy for as long as I'm around, but it's in the best interest of my business to not promise THAT much. One or two years is a good guarantee.
