I love the desert and I love night shots. Love these ^2 !

Well done, especially the light in the cactus husk. Looks intriguingly like a smoldering fire.

Dude, very nice! clap.gif You're really making the 7D start to sing now. I take it you're pretty happy with the high ISO performance. That cactus looks like it's on fire! :wow

Thanks kurtw. We had a great time playing around in the desert. Well- except for all the jumping Chollas. Hate those buggers- especially in the dark.

:D Thanks Joel. Getting use to the camera now.

As for high ISO- the only shot that was high ISO was #3 which was at 1600. The others were 100, 250, and 200. deal.gif The high ISO is better than my previous system, no doubt about it, but is still not as good as I was hoping for.

While it is frustrating the Canon only goes to 30 seconds (my previous camera went to 1 minute) it far superior in that aspect. What is significantly better is the no noise or hot pixels in long exposures. The star trails shot was ISO 200 for 45 minutes. deal.gif

I am already composing many more star trails shots in my head. :D

Wow, the lit cactus is so striking. I mean the one where you put the flash inside? behind the dead one? I thought you set it on fire!

Very creative Aaron! Lighting from the inside of a Saguaro skeleton....hmmm....why didn't I think of that?bowdown.gif

All nice images. I never grow tired of Saguaro shots.
