Hello, just purchased a Nikon D3000 last week and there appears to be a really annoying piece of lint when I look into the viewfinder right to the right upper corner. Already took a look at the mirror and focusing screen and there's no sign of anything on them. Any help greatly appreciated. :thumb

If the lint is not visible in the image files then most likely the lint is positioned on the top of the viewfinder screen. You might be able to see the lint by shining a small light into the eyepiece and looking at the viewfinder screen from the front of the camera, without a lens or body cap, of course.

Yes, would you suggest trying to blow the hair out with a blower? ne_nau.gif

A blower might just move the lint into a more conspicuous position. Either just accept the lint where it is, it's probably not affecting anything related to AF or exposure or image, or remove the viewfinder screen and "very" gently remove the lint. The viewfinder screen is just plastic and it can scratch fairly easily.

Removing the viewfinder screen is not for the timid and you might want to take the camera in to a camera repair shop. In particular the Nikon D3000 appears to use a "retaining wire" to hold the screen in place and it looks to be a little cumbersome to reinstall.
