Shooting film in a vintage Kodak

Hi,

I picked up an old Kodak Retinette 1B camera, and stuck a roll of Kodak Colourplus 200 film in it.

I haven't a clue how to use it, all the adjustments are on various rings on the lens...very interesting!

My question...is it worth the bother of having the film sent off for developing, or will a quick develop and print at a supermarket be ok just to see what happens?
Do they do anything different when developing film in the "proper" labs, or is it much the same?

It's only fun, so I'm not that bothered, just wondering.

You might want to just use a local supermarket developer for this first roll to see if the camera is functioning / no light leaks / you know how to use it properly. :D

Professional labs vary in what they do. I found one that will push or pull rolls, cross process, and accomodate any special developing requests I might have. Professional labs tend to be much better at scanning film, I've found.

Thanks. That's what I am after, I think. I just want to know with reasonable accuracy that both me and the camera are ok. The more accurate stuff can come later if all is well with the "test roll".

    Cheers
