WTB: Macro lens d90 looking

I'm interested in finding a macro lens for taking photos of a fish tank coral reef and fish I wanna get a lens that can take photos under acitincs t5 blue lights, HID metal halides, and 5 watt LED blues ant night and I need a lens to take the shots I'm looking for.
What type of spectrum or lens would I need I'm a beginner I no I need macro but distance what do u guys recommend?? Please helP birthday is near n need this to make me happy

    welcome,

    you can use macro or even non macro for what you want to do. you need fast glass either way, a tripod, and a remote firing trigger. Custom set your WB and have a go.

    Check and post for advise on the Macro forum, someone there may be able to contribute a little more.

    Placing a flash over the tank pointed toward the front glass will remove over head shadows from the lighting and a tripod is a must a d 40 with tripod and flash will take a better shot then a high dollar and hand held.to save a buck use the timer instead of a remote.
