Male Anhinga Preening - Everglades Workshop

Just got home from my second workshop at the Everglades (One more to go) and I could not wait to take the Canon 800mm lens for a spin. This one is one of the first images created using the lens.

I like the feeling of the pose here.

Hope you like it.

Canon 5D MKII, 800mm L @ f/5.6, 1/650 sec, ISO 800, 580 EXII with Better Beamer, Manual exposure, Feisol carbon tripod, full frame.

Thanks!

What a marvellous capture. SOme of us can only drool over shots like this. 800mm glass....I'd beblessed to shoot just once with it...leave alone owning it.

Congrats on that monster piece of glass. I used one once an it was an experience. Its owner used a tripod for the lens and then a second tripod for the body. He triggered the shutter with a wireless remote. What's your set-up for the lens?

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

WOW!! That's an amazing addition to your equipment bag. I'd love to see some more shots taken with it. :-)
