My trip to NY

There's notihing like a little trip to the big city to get the photographic juices flowing. The western suburbs of Boston are home, but we don't really have fall colors yet and I was slumping.

Just look up and the negative space hits you in the eye.

It was pretty much a sensory overload everywhere I looked.

Talk about magical light. Gives sunset on the beach a run for its money.

Security was high because of the UN summit.

But that didn't stop people from being people.

Good photos, all of them, but I like the mannequin one the best. Hehe, I am not a city person, but I know what you mean when you say it gets the photographic juices flowing. :):

Nice series, I love those shallow DOF wide angle shots. I like the mannequin/Radio City one best, it reminds me of the reflections David Kapp posted on his digital photoblog before he went all analog.

    Great Capture of Manhattan Life
    Hi Rutt,

Beautiful series, really makes me quite sad having just left The Center of The Universe (aka Manhattan - if you live there, you know what I mean :D ). My favorite picture is, like Andy pointed out, the *mint pic of Radio City Hall reflected in the window. I also really love the one of the woman hailing a cab as it really captures the spirit of the city.

    Thanks for sharing,
    Kevin K.

I just found this thread, and I had to say this image is awesome. I'm a huge fan of reflections, and this is top notch.

Have you tried printing this yet? I find a lot of times the web display just doesn't do them justice.

    Dave,

What are you doing slumming in these parts? Good to see you.

I saw this shot of Rutt's and thought of you, actually.

Just followed a link back from my blog and saw this thread. I've been lurking for a week or two, but finally decided to post today. Rutt's reflection put me over the edge and I had to comment :D

How have things been around here?

Dave, thank you so much. Coming from you, that's like the best possible compliment. I love your reflection shots, too.
