some very cool (pardon the pun) shots. Thanks for risking breaking your neck climbing for these icy mountain shots. I love your first #1 image. you have done a great job of showing the ice clinging onto everything. Nice composition.

Well, I tried to pick a favorite and can't because they're all outstanding... Maybe #1 because of the sweep from the ice crystals in the foreground to the cloud framed mountains in the background, but #4 has that also - tough call. Can I ask about the setup used to get the shots?

used 5d2 with 17-40L, poloriser, 4 stop nd and 2 stop grad nd.
and good ballance on icy rocks

Great series of images! Some of the long exposure shots are a bit too much for my tastes, but other than that I enjoyed them.

Congrats on getting the only day of the year in North Wales that it isn't raining and you can see the top of anything.

Very nicely done. I think #1 and #4 are the best - they have a good balanced feel to them. #1 makes a very nice BW.

Wonderful series of shots. I turned to this board for some inspiration after a disappointing day trying to shoot landscapes with my amateur hands. Now I think about giving up altogether - I won't I am sure, but I would love to read more about your thought processes when planning to achieve these marvelous results

NEVER think of giving up

you just need to find a style that you like shooting!
i look to have a strong foreground feature leading through the scene to the background.
