Hi,

I am entering a club competition. The subject is Open, Mono. I already have 2 images...I need a third. My previous choice for third wasn't up to it in the end, so here are three more that I can't choose between.

If you have any thoughts, could you let me know?
Thanks!

    Wow, all good shots!

I am not sure why, but #2 is my favorite. I would just lighten this side of the structure to make it stand out a little more. Otherwise, very interesting shot! :-)

Of the three, I also like #2 the best. But I think there some unrealized potential in #3. Try cropping a good part of the right and raising the black point. If you shot in raw, try recovering some of the highlights where the smoke meets the sky. thumb.gif

Thanks, Richard. I will have a go at that, although for the purposes of the competition, #2 is proving more popular with other people I ask. I already have a couple of good strong images that make up the three I need...

I did shoot RAW, so I can have a go as you suggest.

    Cheers

I like 2 best, the silvery light on the leaves is great. 3 can work, I'm curious to see what Richard's suggestions produce.

I like 2 best as well, the lines on the watchtower are very strong.

3 would work better if we could see the front of the locomotive, with the grill and pistons and shiny metal on the wheels where they contact the rail.

    Thanks, Marc.

Think it'll be #2 for my third image...will look at the others again. :)

    Thanks
