For $500 or whatever it is, you can get a 40D or at least a 30D! This will get some sales for Canon, but I think the older bodies are a better value.

    Doesn't seem like that much of an upgrade from the T2i (550D) but I would take a newer body vs an older body !

    It's supposed to be Canon's upgrade to the XS, and I can see how it's a smart move on their part... market a camera for those looking to step up from a p&s (but isn't that gonna be the new mirrorless/smaller DSLR?). But, they're not really a good value, as you can get other higher-end bodies for the same price. I guess if you don't want to buy used then it's good for newcomers on a budget.

    It's not meant to be, that's the 600D.

    Some people want to walk into best buy and hit a price point. Makes sense to have an offering in that category.

    I doubt they had you in mind with this model.
