Looks like a immature red tailed hawk to me. Hey if you have not been to the pond in a while you should stop by. Got a few pics of belted king fisher, osprey, cormorants, white pelicans, great egret, great blue heron and a few black crowned night herons. And the cormorants are starting to nest. Also saw about 20 big green mantis. Have fun shooting talk to you later john

how the h--- are youi about time you said hi --was at the pond sunday with ron reznick [name dropping ] and again today --Ben and I got the green and brown mantis .Now you have to post the kingfisher shoots I have worked at it and that sob is hard to get .You are very close on the bird ID it is a juvenile dark-morph Red-Tail Hawk. it is rare and happy i am with my shot . the white pellies are all over the place pm me or call me always fun shooting with you--- you got the EYe thanks for looking and helping

no man bolsa the tree with the white tailed kite in the back you know it well and ben and i have shot the snakes but we can not find the owl and how about you you post some great shots after I have to threaten you and then those last ones of yours were too good made me feel bad but it did make me work harder
thanks steve that dam bridge and homes in the background but this is the only good shooting place for the TREE
