Houseboat High and Dry

If you ever find yourself on Rt 51 between Chippewa and the Ohio line in extreme western Pennsylvania, you will happen across this peculiar sight. A house boat (think trailer on pontoons) on the side of the road floating on blades of long grass. The nearest water is in Beaver, about 25 minutes away. It has been there as long as I can remember, and marked the 5 minutes to Grandma's house point on the Thanksgiving trip. I'm too lazy to wake up early and get mist of fog surrounding it, and to scared of local 'wildlife' to venture out at night, so I shot it about 10 am and used my color infrared action on it to spice it up a bit. Original scanned from Fuji Provia 100, shot with a 50mm f1.7 minolta on a maxxum 5.

Gosh it looks in pretty good nick still...... but that would worry me having grass that long around my house it actually looks like a house with a deck rather than a house boat doesn't it.
We used to look for the "V" Shaped marker on the Pt Londale Road to know that we were almost on Nan's door step funny the memories that stay with us from our childhood isn't it.
