ecard - is it possible?

Sorry if this is not the right place to post, I did some looking around but could not find a solution. There are a couple posts, mostly in 2008 about ecards but no solution.
What I would like to do is offer prospective customers the ability to make ecards from my images. They would add custom text to any image and then be able to send them to their friends. It would be great to set this up with a password or code (using the coupon option?) for them. In some cases I would like to charge but for most it would be free. the ecard would come from my smugsite (www.etherealvision.com) so the receiver would know where to go if they wanted to purchase a print.
Is this possible?
