Pretty proud of my son. He just won "Best of Fair" for our county science fair.

This was just after he was awarded the prize. Taken with my D700 at 200mm with no noise reduction.

ISO 3200!!

Here is a shot at the science fair this past weekend.

Isn't the D700 awesome. ISO performance on this body has really impressed me. Take that Canon fans! (Sam)

Oh... and congrats to your little one.

Eh.. not surprised about the "best" (that reminds me something about the Apple and the apple tree ;) ), but congrads none the less.

D700 is a BEAST when it comes down to high iso.

Enjoy your D300. I have one but do not take the ISO above 1200. With FX, I will go to 6400 without much concern!

The hell with the camera stuff ... I just want to applaud the kid and his accomplishment clap.gif. I'm sure Dad is hugely proud.

The photo did turn out pretty nice though.

Chuck, I've been on this site for almost 7 years. Many folks have seen my son's photos since he was 6 years old. I wanted to brag a bit with this accomplishment and share with my friends. The camera stuff was a bit of a ruse. ne_nau.gif

Still pretty happy with how little noise I get at such high iso. mwink.gif

That's fantastic, congrats to him and you...
We (my little one and I) were watching a special on oil eating microbes pertaining to the Gulf disaster and it was quite interesting to say the least.
The D700 shines best under these conditions...
As for NR...what the heck is that?
I never need to use it!
