I took this photo and intend to give it to my step dad as a gift. I was wondering if I could get opinions. I know the foreground is dark and wondered if there is to much going on. I don't want to foist a bad photo on my folks...they have all the best food don't want to tick them off. :-)

I wouldn't worry at all about the foreground being dark on this one. It works great as a silhouette, as the primary focus of this shot seems to be the gorgeous gold color and the shape of your subjects.
The first thing that stands out to me is the tilt, which is really accentuated because there are a lot of possible reference points here. Which one is right? The bridge, the horizon, the tree?
