Not really sure it fits the theme, but thoughts?

I think anything fits the theme. :D It is, after all, a very personal statement about what you love.

Nice shot! Great texture and flow.

I love it too, although I don't know if that top beam is needed, have you tried cropping just below that? Just a thought. Love your processing on it, the details are great, and I like the light and shadow playclap.gif

Only fits the theme if you love old light houses (is that what it is?). If you do, and pronounce that love in the image title, it works. I wonder about a tad more contrast (would need to see it to see if I would agree with myself).

I love the textures...just enough detail. Great job! I think it's fine for the theme.

When I look at this photo, it tells me that YOU LOVE...Angles, Textures, Adventure of sorts, for instance "Dark Mystery" i.e. "What is around the bend", I say this because of your use of the grayscales.

If I pegged you right, you then posted something about yourself of what YOU LOVE and it fits the theme...other than that...Nice work, although I agree, try cropping it and see how it looks w/o the beam...It might take away from the effect, the beam sort of is an eye stopper for me, and tells me to continue DOWN the stairs and look...and it also adds to the Strength of the photo.

    Peace,

Wow! To wake up and see that everybody likes it! Thank you all.

I have finally upgraded cameras to a Canon 20D (new for me), and have been learning it. Definitely a learning curve after being a Nikon photog for so long.

What I love is sharpness and texture. I've tried the suggestions of cropping and contrast. Greg, this is actually a water tower in Seattle. Here they are:

Great shot. I like the cropped without the increased contrast which surprises me. I usually like over contrast.

Love the cropped version. It makes me feel like I'm really going down the stairs.
