I know Spring is coming...these guys started showing up quite frequently making lots of noise. I'll use them to practice my bird photos and hopefully get some in the wilderness. But quail are the hardest to get; they are fast and flighty. I hope this is the year when I get get a bird in flight :lust I've been learning lots here!

Very interesting birds. Would like to shoot these someday. I have not had the good fortune to see one in person. Thanks for sharing and glad they are back for you to enjoy.

I think the birds on the extreme left and right are both pretending that they're not listening to the conversation in the middle...

    Well caught! Lovely birds.

they both have a look of 'studiously ignoring' about them, don't they?

I think the guys on the right are discussing 'something' about spring and the gal on the left is leaving the conversation! :D

They are fun birds - rather hyper and hard to get.

Thank you! Yes - they are tasty birds (sorry to say - but we enjoy beer battered quail). Photographing them gives me greater pleasure though... I think! :D

Thank you much, considering it's spring they probably have much to say and hear.
