Most of the time when I go up to Yosemite with a camera it's for work and I'm taking photographs of people in Yosemite. Not just photographs of Yosemite. I've never felt that I've been a strong landscape photographer, so I have been working on changing that. In reality, I spent much more time hiking around and simply enjoying than I did shooting.

Wow for a supposedly not strong landscape photographer you sure do have some strong landscapes!!!

I've been thinking about trying to hit up Horsetail Falls this weekend since it's about that time of the year for the firefall phenomenon. That last pic is promising! :D

Not a strong landscape photographer? Phooey! Lovely images!

Is that horse shoe falls? I love how the light is golden this time of year!

Not very promising to photograph Horsetail Falls. I was in the park last Saturday and the falls were flowing. Looks like the water has diminished quite a bit in almost a week.

You've got some nice colour in some very interesting shots... I really like the comp of #1 but I'm begging to see those foreground rocks/ice a bit sharper.

    Well done thumb.gif

Thanks everyone. I guess what it really boils down to is the fact that I don't have the patience or time for landscape photography.

The last shot is in fact Horsetail Falls. It was a bit too cold that day, so there is not as much runoff as we would have liked. Also, not quite perfect conditions with the light showing that iconic shot with just the falls lit - but it sure was a fun night :) It looks like the light will peak next week, but so will the storm that is moving in.

Really liking #1 and #3 both are fine images in my mind. I have been trying to get down to Yosemite for a couple of weeks, but I am buried with work. Heading for Yosemite no later than 2/22 even if I have to close the doors for a week.
I don't know where I'm goin, but I'm goin anyway.

really nice job. #1 shows a creative eye to capture the icy rocks with a shallow DOF with the falls behind. I also really like your tight crop of Horsetail, both images you typically do not see. well done.
