After a hike on a cold day we walked into this place to have tea. There were only men playing a game and the old man reading his paper. After I took the shot I realized my lens had fogged...

Then I took this one:

I'm not happy with either of these shots, what should I have done differently?

Well, wipe off your lens for starters. lol3.gif

You could reprocess the first to reduce the damage. A simple curves layer to raise the black point with a gradient mask to protect the right would help. I would crop the brightest part of the bottom and a bit of the left from #2 as well, but it's pretty good as is.

Thanks for the suggestion and your reworking of the image! Right now I am travelling with very basic PP abilities (i.e. picasa on a work laptop), but back home I only have LR3 but not PS. I do have something called paint.net that claims to have the functionality of PS (layers etc. ) but the learning curve is steep and haven't had the time and patience required.

    Here is 2. cropped

    Here is what Richard suggested:

Thank you as always! :D and I will clean my lens!

LR3 has graduated filters, which should work equally well in this particular case. thumb.gif
