So if want to use a 4x6 filter on my Canon 17-40mm (filter size 77mm):

- I need an Cokin XPRO filter holder, and
- a Cokin 77mm XPRO adapter ring.

AM I right?

I would like to use 4x6 Lee or Singh Ray filters.

Thanks a lot! (I have no idea about filters and have never used one...)

Lee or Singhray have a thin adapter for wide angle lenses...this may be the route to go.......I understand that they are both more expensive than Cokin but Cokin seems to have stagnated and not come out with any thing new.........

Cokin Z Pro system. You can get a holder by it self, plus a 77mm ring. Nice thing about the cokin is you can dismantle it and break it down to hold one, two or three filters..

I bought eh combo kit which was holder + 3 Graduated ND filters for around $200 from B&H. Also got the adapters from them too. Works well.
