Always a sucker for lost love and on the eve of that day of ultimate romance, I'm trying a humourous take on this:dunno

Idea #1 - not really up to the challenge standard

lost love

oh man lost love hurts! Feels just about like that too, putting the old shriveled up heart through the garbage disposal (you might add a little rubbing alchol, some shrapnel, tabasco in there, least that's what I remember it feeling like.

Now I like your idea nd I do like the shot. But lol, I don't know about the theme "something you love" you love lost love? or you love your lost love? or you like the idea of people losing their loves (you sick woman you) :)

I like the shot--just trying to grasp the theme/concept connection.

I love the melancholy of lost love, in literature, film, not so much in real life. I know. I'm twisted. rolleyes1.gif Too dark a choice me thinks.

A more serious attempt - not sure the dreamy blur works. Thoughts?

    Option 1

    Option 2
    the written word

Lost Love is a nice shot, but I'd be concerned that people wouldn't understand loving lost loves - I think the books sends a stronger message of what you love. I really like The Written Word - I like the colors & the way the book cover complements the tablecloth.

Thanks. I agree that the loving lost love is not terribly strong a message and more than a bit odd. Its a toss up between #1 and #2 of the book shots. #1 has a direct reference to Sting's lyrics with the inclusion of the title of the book in the lower left corner and it his music, specifically his work as a lyricist that I love. #2 is more of a general love of the written word, particularly of books, a dying breed. I'm a Luddite when it comes to e-readers. mwink.gif

I would favor #1 of the books. I too love Sting's work as a lyricist (another hobby of minemwink.gif)
The lower left corner is a bonus to the image IMO, because it helps identify what the connection is for you

yes good point about the lower left being in the shot.
I like this shot for the challenge better. It's not that I don't like "dark" takes on the themes but I just didn't get it. Dark can be good and often humorous.

I agree Liz. I'll likely submit the 1st book shot. Although it doesn't really knock my socks off, I'm hard pressed to come up with anything else. Brain cramp this week. headscratch.gif
