I am a newbie and I do not shoot people much but my wife decided that she would like to go to the Ren-fest yesterday..... so I took the opp to please her ;D and to capture some candids while I was there.

All shot with my D700, 300 f/2.8 AFS and a SB-900.

Comments and suggestions welcome.

Cheers, joe

Hi there and welcome to Dgrin wave.gif. Terrific portraits--great color and detail, dreamy bokeh and nice cast of characters. What's most impressive to me is the control of light here. I always have problems with blown highlights or plugged shadows at events like this. You mentioned an SB 900--did you have it on camera or off? I have been trying to figure out how to use flash without calling too much attention to myself, but so far I'm stuck. headscratch.gif

I'd be interested in seeing some wider shots that show the characters in context.

Looking forward to seeing more of your work. thumb.gif

It was a overcast day which helped out a lot with the lighting....on sunny days I would have been shooting more contrasty edgy images.

The SB-900 was bot on the camera at times and off at time with a pigtail.

    Thanks for the comment.
