homepage slideshow - how to show off best pics?

I would like my home page slideshow to show what I consider my best shots, rather than a specific gallery. Is there a "best practice" for how to go about doing this?

    Assign a keyword to all your best photos like "my best" and in the slideshow
    edit box select "keyword" for Source and put that keyword in.
