When you live within a stones throw of San Fran and visit pretty frequently, it is pretty tough to get in some shots that you haven't taken a thousand times before.
Of course, you can always recruit some of your fellow photographers into being a model, but even then, getting creative with it takes a little extra thought.
After a few of those shots you go back to some tried and true spots, looking for something slightly different.
If that fails, you simply look for a sign of inspiration.
After receiving that inspiration, you only need to look around.
