Hahnemuhle Prints

Hi, I've read through all of the threads on printing on Hahnemuhle, and understand it is from the deep recesses of the black forest in Germany and made by paper monks, thus the high cost.

Still, I wanted to give it a try on a few photos I have. I don't have a printer to work with myself (though I'm starting to eye a few of them ... so suggestions for good printers that print on Hahnemuhle that are not 2k would be well received) and I am not finding any print services that print on it.

Does anyone know of an online print service that will accept and print images on Hahnemuhle?

Paul Monday

    Hey Paul-

I am tech support at Hahnemühle USA, and I would be happy to assist you with your question. We have a list of some of the print studios that print of HFA papers. Here is a link:

    http://hahnemuhledirect.com/printstudios.html

Just so you are aware--I can not vouch for the quality of all of the services listed, other than they use our papers. But it should be helpful starting point. In regards to printers, there are quite a few printers on the market that won't bust your budget, but will still produce great results. There is the Epson R2880, which has the same inkset as the 3880 UltraChrome K3 with Vivid Magenta(with smaller cartridges) but the printhead tech is not as good as the 3880's. Epson is coming out with a new printer R3000, which has the same inkset, but they improved the printhead technology. There is also the Canon Pixma Pro 9500 Mark II-- it has a decent/large inkset and is reasonably priced. All of these printers are 13", if you want to go any bigger the price gets closer to the $2K. I hope this info helps in your printing quest.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions about our papers.

    Best,

    Ashleigh
