WW, exactly WHO in any of the above photographs is "seriously overweight" and for the life of me please say you didn't repost an edited shot that shows this couple...."slimmed"?????

You can't tell? The only reason I quoted a specific image was to exemplify what I feel the issue is as I see it.

I'm not casting aspersions on anyone, not the photographer and certainly not the subjects, just commenting that, as a professional photographer, one needs to be mindful of how one shows people who are sitting for portraits in the best possible light - especially where the portraits will be used to note significant personal events.

If you were not seeking feedback, then I don't understand why you posted the portfolio. If you were only seeking platitudes, I'm sorry if my comment has been construed as anything other than a well-intentioned observation. I thought this was a forum for photographers to discuss photography! mwink.gif

Vivalaveritas: Thanks, those are all my wife’s shots.
Qarik: Not a huge fan on vignette but I definitely see how a few of them could benefit from it. Good eye, I will see what I can do on the final edits.
Darren: Thanks, I agree. I don’t really see an overweight issue? But again I am 5’11” 175 pounds and according to my college book on health I am overweight?
W.W.Webster: I can see you where you are coming from and my wife has also warned me to be careful on choosing the right angle with specific individuals however I just don’t see an overweight issue with this image. Perhaps I just a have a different standard on what overweight is. But I do appreciate the feedback and I will remember the comment for following sessions.

regarding the weight..given the personalities/style of the subjects..I don't see an issue in this case. Real folks...genuine pictures. If they had dressed up and this were done in sleek urban setting then yeah..maybe more of an issue.

I think these are great shots, and I love the one with the suspended heart!

I agree with Quarik - for the setting and the obvious genuine personality of this couple, that shot didn't make me batt an eye...

I wouldn't like 11 if I was him TBH. It's a sensitive issue, and I'm no size zero, but on some of the shots he looks great (like 1) whereas on some others the angle is less flattering.
