I did a search today on Dogpile for "********* Photography" to see where I ranked in the findings, and I came across the following link half way down on the FIRST page - which leads to an empty gallery, under my old Smug name of "Nomad":

http://nomad.smugmug.com/Landscapes

I can't locate it to delete it. Can you help? Why is this happening and how can I prevent the old galleries from Nomad from showing up in searches?

thanks!
Lori

They'll fall off naturally as Google re-indexes your site.

Thanks Andy - but HOW would a search engine find a gallery that doesn't exist? Why wouldn't it roll over to the NEW "Landscapes" gallery with lots of images?

    Look at my first message....
    Andy,

I included the link in my first message. It came up on the FIRST page of a Dogpile search which grabs from Google and others.

It IS showing up in searches, whether it came up in the one you did or not. This should not be happening. I've had this domain name for almost a year now! So why is it linking to a non-existant gallery and how can I stop it?

I saw the link in your message. Can't see it when I search Google. You must have had a gallery that at one time was in the category /Landscapes, and google indexed it. It will fall off of Google's index over time, but we can't control that.
