For those of you who have never seen an artilley peice fire I figured I would post this. They are firing a 92lb round. Its amazing that you can see the rounds go down range with the eye.

This one cost me a bit of my left eyebrow. Not a place I would want toi stand on a regular basis.

This is at the "direct fire range" to simulate having to shoot at an enemy vehicle within eyesight.

The sound must have been completely deafening. How'd you bones feel after the first shot?

Yes they are, I wish I would have brought a longer lens to get shots of the round hitting the target but I only had room for the 17-40.

Earplugs, earplugs and more earplugs. They fired over 1200 rounds in 3-4 days. After the 1st couple of rounds you get used to it. I had to leave one plug slightly out so I could hear the commands from in the track so I knew when to take the picture.
