    Love that lens
I am still amazed with the 14-24mm f/2.8 lens. It distorts very little, unless you get close to a subject and the images are tack sharp. I hesitated buying that lens because I wanted the 24mm f/1.4 and could not justify paying for both. KEH cameras came to town and I sold all of my old gear and was able to buy not only the 14-24 and the 24 f/1.4 but also the new 70-200 VRll. I hated to part with all my medium format gear and studio lighting, but they mostly sit in storage, so why not get something I'll use all the time. You will love that lens.

Congrats on the new lens, Daniel.

I love this lens. I rarely used it until I traveled to Yellowstone and the Tetons this past summer. I left it on my D700 for most of the trip and forced myself to try and take some decent portaits including the amazing surroundings. The lens is spectacularly sharp with little distortion.

Wait—I thought the holy trinity was Wallet, Keys, Phone?

You'll love it. There's little in this world like it. Having said that, watch out for flare in certain circumstances. The curvature of the front element is such that it can pick up flare from the strangest angles. Here, my light source (the mouth of the cave) was about 110 degrees to my left and no amount of shifting/blocking it with my hand fixed it:

But you can also get rare perspectives and at f/2.8, all the better.
