A friendly Pine Marten on Dixville Peak in NH. He stayed around long enough for a couple photos before being scared off by a couple other snowmobilers.

Next time you might think about shooting from a better angle of view. Getting down on the ground and shooting at the animal's head height and having eye contact/better head angle would definitely improve this shot. I might also suggest not putting your subject dead center in the frame. moving it off center and using any number of rules of composition would also improve the impact of this image. It is always exciting to capture wildlife wile out and about. Thanks for sharing.

I was able to get a couple of other shots with him in a better pose, but they were a little blurry. It was cloudy and snowing and we were right in the clouds so the lighting wasn't very good. Plus he had a spot in the shadows where he kept going back to that was even darker. I tried to get a couple more shots of him, but that is when the other snowmobilers parked right next to his tree and scared him off. Thanks for your input though. I will try that when the next chance comes up.

    Very nice capture!
Love the texture and detail that you were able to get into the snow. That can't be easy to do.

If this was my image, I think I would play around with different crops that don't have the Marten so centred in the image.
