I saw a very similar idea being used in portrait pics (Keetley's 1000 faces) and thought I could make it work as a Macro image.
This is a piece of flyscreen strung up about 30 cm in front of a vase containing a red/orange rose and a pink rose. I then sprayed the flyscreen with water and off I went taking pics.
The vase is on a small outdoor seat with a black cotton bed sheet draped over it, the flyscreen is strung up across a pine towel rail/dryer and the whole lot set-up outside in natural light.
Camera was a Pentax K100D
Lens was the old Sigma 3.5/28-80 Aspherical kit lens that came with my old 35mm film Pentax MZ50.
If at first you don't succeed - maybe sky diving isn't for you.

I have had thoughts of putting some metal mesh, like termite mesh, in a freezer to get the metal very cold, then spray with cold water and see if the drops will freeze ..... something to do when winter rolls around I think, 37 degrees C here yesterday and more of the same for the rest of the week.
