Replace Photo

Once I receive an order, I am retouching and replacing the photo before it gets printed. Since I am changing the file name, I have to use the individual replace feature. However, this process is taking a long time - about 2 - 3 min per photo. Am I doing something wrong or is there a way to speed it up?

Thanks!

Open a separate browser window. Start the replace and go about your business in other browser windows, replacing other photos, doing other things, etc... and not waiting for it to complete. It won't matter how long it takes then. The one at a time interface is just cumbersome.

Thanks John - that is what I was doing :) You are right though - it is cumbersome!

Which is why we added the ability to replace multiple photos in an order in the proof delay screen.

I have been experiencing the same 2-3 minutes time to replace a single photo. I have used replace photo for a single image for thousands of photos and for about the last 5 years. It use to be way quicker, which is why there has to be something wrong with the time it takes to replace a photo. I have been going back-n-forth with no luck with Smugmug Heroes. I tried the replace multiple photos and it did not work at all. I kept getting "No match found, won't upload" error message, even though I use the same exact file name and sRGB color mode.

For the replace multiple, make sure your filenames match 100% (including case and the file extension). If your file in the gallery is named:
    DSC_0100.jpg
the multiple replace tool won't work if your replacement file is named like this:
    Dsc_0100.jpg
    DSC_0100.JPG

    Andy,

Is there anything being done to resolve the extreme time it takes to replace a photo? Still dragging and dragging.

It's happening fast for me when I try it (Cable connection, NY). Please write our Support Heroes we'll see what we can do for you ok?
