Springtime for Turkeys

Turkeys are getting ready for mating season. I was following a flock while feeding and resting. They ran into another flock and the gang war was on.
Chasing each other around and making quite a racket. I thought I was going to be run down at one time. Shot some video of it.

    It is hard to shoot video with a 300mm prime with the subjects so close. WOuld have been nice if I had my telezoom on that day. I cut out the parts when my lens refocused due to the noise the motor drive makes when I use non AF-S lenses. I did buy a external mic which helps a lot but I do not have it on all the time. The internal mic picks up all the camera and tripod noises

    #1 and 4 = my fave! Had to laugh at the video; those things are funny! What lens did you use or did you get that close ? It's hard to get near any wild turkey unless one looks like tree bark! :D
