Below are a few of my favorites from this past year. All of these are candid shots in natural light. I use different methods of processing my images and I break a lot of technical rules, but that's what art is all about, right - freedom of expression! Hope you enjoy, and any CC is most welcome ~

I like the last one, the soft light and colors work well with the subject. I love texture and grain.

Thank you, Zoomer, I really appreciate you taking the time to look at my photos and comment. That last one is a fave of mine, too. You can't tell (because I cropped it) but she's holding one of our hens. The hen was out of focus and actually distracted from my subject. I'm just starting to work with textures, and they're actually harder than I thought they'd be.

I'm with Zoomer on the last one. I also like #4. Not thrilled about the crop but I like the light and the processing. BTW, she has a little "booger" below her mouth on the her right side. Maybe lint from the hat or a snow flake?

Thank you! You make me laugh about the 4th one! The "booger" is a snow flake, which I should actually get rid of. This photo was taken just at the end of a major snow storm, and it was still snowing. I was very close to her, using my 85mm 1.8. Really should have gotten her whole face, but I still like the photo. I love the look on her face - it is so "her!"

I think they are all great and I am with everyone else the last one is my favorite.

Going against the grain here to say I adore #5 most of the bunch, with #4 (minus right-cheek snowflake) a close second. The tones and processing in #5 are just delightful and soft, and I love the offguard moment.

Thank you all for your input and kind words - I truly appreciate it!
I almost didn't include the 6th image in this set, although it is by far my favorite. I am practicing the use of combining textures, overlays and actions and it's not as easy as I had thought. I'm pleased with the outcome of this image, and I'm glad it was well received!
