Uploading RAW photos to my SmugVault

Hello all, first post. ;)

I've been trying to find a reasonably simple way to upload raw photos to my smugvault and have, thus far, been unsuccessful. My photos are kept in Aperture where I do my post production and all that. For those of us using Macs you know that aperture keeps its photos in a database and then creates a jpeg when you go to load the file to a website rather than trying to load the RAW file. Which is where the problem comes in.

I COULD, hypothetically, export all of my RAW files into a folder and upload them that way. It seems quite unintuitive to do, however, and would take time and valuable disk space. Is there a more simple solution?

    Hi Adam,
I am not familiar with Aperture. But I am fairly certain that when you upload your RAW photos, from camera to Mac. That somewhere, on your hard drive, the RAW files are being saved. You should be able to locate them using Finder. From there, use the Simple, or MacDaddy, uploader to upload the RAW files into your SmugVault.

If this doesn't do the trick. Pleased contact us at the Help Desk

I guess, for the moment, my workaround is going to have to be that I export the files and delete the folder. It's inconvenient but what're you gonna do? I did discover a workaround where I could actually get into Aperture's photo database but it's not any easier than that. You may want to put up a note in the help file on Smugmug about uploading from iPhoto or Aperture since they both store their images inside a proprietary DB.
