Cat. I like the sharp eyes and the white on the face against the black background. There is a bit of grayness on the right side that I think the shot would be stronger without.

I like the DOF on the dog shot and it is a nice portrait of him, but I am not sure that it will do better than the Romantic shot that is already in the gallery.

    Love your commentary Karen!

    I agree with Karen.
The cat sharp (I mean shot but won't correct it as you can see where my mind is) it is so sharp! it's killer.
I love how he blends in with the dark and you don't know where one starts and the other ends. It's a bit mysterious, much like cats.

Ane while I like the dog shot, it will be hard to surpass Mr. Romantic already in the gallery.

Definitely the cat! Karen's comments express my response to both shots.

HEre's a reprocessed version to remove the gray artifacts on the right and slightly reposition the image. Also a touch of sharpening and pixel bender for definition. Looking at it online, I might try to tone down the brightness of the eye on the left, which feels too bright to me here.

The cat is your shot - but that dog makes me want to reach out and pet him!
