So this youngster from my church is auditioning for a HUGE band and needed some headshots... that said, the shot I'm posting isn't a headshot so much as a shot that I just really liked. Yes, his head is in the shot but I LOVE the way I accomplished this shot.

Maybe I'm seeing it better than it is and THAT is what I need you all to tell me. lol. Either I did something great or just okay.

Which is it?
What would you have done differently?
What do you like about it?

I like it but personally I would have cropped so that he was to the far right of the frame. It's just a little too static for my taste dead center....
    Lighting is cool......

I agree with reyvee I think it would look in the far right. The lighting is great though.

I would have loved to have moved his face over but I didn't think about that when I shot it so to the left is poo and to the right is poo. :/

Agree about moving the subject over but the lighting is georgous and the skin tones very nice. Can you work the eye to give them alittle more pop?

Are the names on the chalk board of any significance?

Actually they are. This is a chalk spot on the wall at my church where the kids write the names of their friend's and family that they are praying for. thumb.gif

Technically, it's a very nice shot. Nice work on the lighting and choice of a blackboard too.

I'd vote for the tighter crop too.
