Here's two shots I took the other weekend to get some more practice with the rig. Still need some improvement (and a wider lens), but these will do for now!

it's no easy feat for sure. and there's one thing that i've seen about all rigs: if you cheap out on the parts, you'll get cheap looking results. my rig was pretty pricey to put together, but the results have been worth it so far!

Very true! That's why I went with a commercially available setup from automotiverigs.com. I got tired of getting poor results with my home-made attempts.
You're off to a great start with your shots. Glad to see you didn't do the typical parking garage shots! Even with rig shots backgrounds and locations can make or break the results.
