I have found the panacea !!

I just had to buy a polarizer. I can now get colour where i didnt have it before. I can shoot into the sun & still get some colour.

Wasnt really concentrating on anything today but seeing what i can now get away with. I was surprised at just how much speed i lost but just up'd the ISO one hit & it was ok.

Best few $ i have ever spent !

Whats with the purple guys...its something to do with the polarizer ?. Have never seen it before in this type of shot.

Things like these rocks...i have never had colour in that sort of stuff in the sun in the past.

I never had colour in full sun like this before.

I even have reflected colour now like the reflection on the water from the channel marker.

Still always like my hot shots.

nice work, glad you enjoy that c-pl.

the purple is called chromatic abberation, or "purple fringing" or "color fringing." it's a phehumo... phenommi...phenemon... cr@p it happens when shooting in high-contrast situations like the one you presented. some lenses are more prone to it than others.

imo, the best fix for it is shaytech's color fringe remover. learn to use this action in manual mode, and in about 10 seconds, you can handily remove *just* the purple from those little tiny wave flecks."

Tks andy. That particular shot is directly into the sun...im impressed with the glare reduction.

I dont usually have it & i shoot into the sun a bit...if it is now a worry i will grab the action off shay & use it. I do love my actions.

Off to the rain forests tomorrow to see if it gives me my greens back.

Can't wait for the rainforest shots. Your pictures always make me feel like going walkabout.

All sorts out today ian..its a huge bay that gets very nasty very quickly. I got caught out in it one day on my old trawler & i was wishing that i had kept that last Gideons i used as a tripod in a hotel room....would have read the odd verse or 2.

Its a big bay, very shallow & stands straight up.

    Your last shot is GRrrreeat!....
    # 6 is a nice capture, although a distant 2nd for my money.

p.s I have windsurfed for many years... and have yet to find a better way to spend an afternoon!

WOW!!! I'm not talking about the photography; the windsurfing is to die for. Get me on one of those.

The shots are great, especially that last one, but I think I'd have to put the camera down and get on a board.

    best regards,
Thanks anson... the bloke in the last one come up to me & ask if i got him he was so close...about another 3 feet & he collided with the rock groin which i caught also but its just a spray of water.

Its good for windsurfers alright as its only about 3 feet deep.

Thanks for breaking it to me gently baldy.

Its all here mate...i would like to try the kitesurfing. They get going so fast that 2 years ago there was a pommie tourist whom went out on the bay. In summer here you can set your watch on a storm at 3pm. He got caught in it & he was lifted over the power lines & trees & onto a 2 or 3 floor balcony of a unit. No injurys.

You blokes dont windsurf there ?

Oh yes we do! I love the sport and did it in the lakes around Dallas when we lived there. We have some big-time windsurfers out by the Golden Gate and some of my buds take windsurfing vacations to Baja to romp in the surf.

But all my sporting time gets dedicated to triathlon at the moment.
