Portraits of a dancer...
Very windy day, we couldn't keep the hair out of her face so we just went with it. All natural light right at sunset.

I think I like #1 the best - the bw treatment works so well here. I really want to love #2, but I find the background - and similarity of tone in the building and her skin (and that the dark line of the roof goes through the darker colour of her hair, thus matching tonalities there as well) - draws my eye away from her. The light is gorgeous, the mid-air catch s great, love the dress.... but I keep looking at what's behind her
As always, great shots. Something about two is amazing.

My favorite is the last one. I really like the lighting and sculpting in the image.

My favorite is 1 also.
2 was a tough shot for me. Normally I would light that shot which would isolate her more from the back wall. The wind was blowing 30 mph so that was not an option. I shot it wide open to get as much blur as possible on the wall, the main thing I was worried about is I didn't want her head up in the sky. I also wanted to be shooting slightly up so there was not much space to work with.
For me, I love the look of that wall and how the colors of her outfit work so well with it.
Next time I shoot a dancer there I will tuck her back into one of those pockets and get her closer to the wall, that will give me more vertical space to work with.
Lessons learned for next time, thanks.
