These two were popular at the Nikon Cafe, thought I'd post them here.

    Both beautiful.

I wish the first was just a touch wider, especially so that the mountain top was not clipped.

Both could benefit from the LAB work that we've been doing on other threads.

Here's one to start with, if you're interested:

Both are awesome. Wouldn't mind spending a day in that canoe. The second pic mountains looks like seriated knife.

Great shots jthomas.I can testify to the color of the water in these shots as I am from Alberta and have been to these spots many times.Im just not sure if you went from Banff to Jasper or the other way around. How did you like Lake Louise,it's a long way from the Blue Ridge Mtns to the Canadian Rockies.I hope you had a good time while you were up here and had many a good shot with your D70,did I mention I shoot with a D70 as well.I would love to make my way down to Virginia to see the Blue Ridge Mtns,if you have any shots from there could you post some for my wife and I.We would realy love to make it down there sometime..Mike
    I took a picture once

I have seen mountains in many parts of the world, including Switzerland, Torres del Paine in Southern Chile, and all over the American West. But I think the drive from Banff to Jasper includes some of the most spectacular scenery in the world.

I'll post some pictures of my local area if we ever get any clear weather. Our haze has been terrible for the entire time I've owned the D70.

If anyone would like to see more from our Canadian Rockies trip, look here.

Yep, I also regret clipping off the mountain top. I was so intent on catching the canoe when it popped out of the shadow, I forgot to look at the top of the frame. It's lost forever now!

I've got to get that LAB book.

By the way, the first shot is posted straight from the camera with no post-processing. If anyone would like a go at improving it, feel free; the link to the original is given in the post above. Just please provide details of the changes made.
